My story
I was the nervous 12-year-old at the back of the class once.
My Jado Kuin Do journey started when I was 12 years old, and it has shaped who I am ever since. Over the past 12 years the art has given me discipline, focus and a community that feels like family. For more than ten of those years I was lucky enough to support Sifu Mark Bruce in his classes, learning what it really means to lead a room and bring the best out of every student in it.
In 2022 I earned my Instructor Qualification, and in 2024 I achieved my 3rd Degree Black Belt, the milestone that awarded me the title of Sifu. In March 2026 I took over Jado Kuin Do Banbury, and I couldn’t be prouder of the club we’re building here.
Because I started young, I remember exactly what it feels like to walk into a class for the first time. That’s why every child at Jado Banbury is known by name, encouraged every week and challenged at their own pace. Jado Kuin Do gave me confidence, focus and friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Now it’s my turn to pass that on.
Sifu Daniel Knight is the head instructor at Jado Kuin Do Banbury, a children’s martial arts club at Hill View Primary School, Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 1DN. A 3rd Degree Black Belt in Jado Kuin Do and a qualified instructor since 2022, he has trained in the art since the age of 12 and spent more than ten years assisting Sifu Mark Bruce before taking over the Banbury club in March 2026. Kids martial arts classes run every Thursday at 6pm and focus on confidence, discipline, fitness and practical self-defence.
